Der Begriff Ordnung ist bei harmonischen Verzerrungen [HD] und Intermodulationen (IM) als der Betrag der Summe aller Koeffizienten eines Verzerrungsprodukts definiert.

In der Funktechnik kann zwischen Verzerrungsprodukten gerader und ungerader Ordnung unterschieden werden.
Im Gegensatz zu harmonischen Verzerrungen [HD] und Intermodulationsprodukten (IMP) gerader Ordnung, die sich i.d.R. außerhalb des empfangbaren Frequenzbands befinden, können die IM-Produkte ungerader Ordnung innerhalb des Bandes liegen und nicht einfach gefiltert werden.
